You just need some ring pliers, a bushing driver set and a compressor for the low reverse clutch. That weird looking piece of crap is a low reverse compressor made from an old bed frame. Now Stall's kids don't have any place to sleep.
The only way to work on one of these things is to stand it straight up. The book said to cut a hole in your workbench but we just bolted an old flywheel to the kitchen table and went to town.
There are a buttload of these in aTH 350.

The transmission overhaul wasn't really that big of a deal. A lot of people are intimidated at the thought of going any farther into one than just under the valve body to put in a shift kit. Just buy the book and find yourself a good trans shop to work with. We won't go into any of the specifics because the book does a GREAT job of laying it out step by step.
